J. Douglas McCalla
J. Douglas McCalla, or Doug as he is known, is a third generation Wyoming native born and raised in Gillette, Wyoming. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1969 to 1973 and graduated from the University of Wyoming Law School in 1976.
He practiced law in Cheyenne, Wyoming until 1980 when he accepted a position as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Uinta County and served in that position until he joined The Spence Law Firm in 1982.
McCalla is admitted to practice law in the State Bars of Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. He has an "AV" rating in Martindale-Hubbell and has been admitted as lead counsel in the courts of at least seventeen states. He is a founding member and director of Lawyers and Advocates for Wyoming, a non profit public interest law firm. McCalla has attended Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College and is now a faculty staff member for the college.
